WHAT’S YOUR BACKGROUND?
I am a 24-year-old designer and illustrator. I live in Rome, where I studied Fashion Design at the IED and later did a Master’s in High Fashion at the Academy of Costume and Fashion. I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, it has always been my passion. After graduating from high school, I chose a course of study that would allow me to realise my dream of working in Fashion.I was lucky enough to meet teachers who taught me to hone my technique and developmy own personal style, both in design and illustration. The fact of not just reproducing a garment but of telling the story through one’s drawings is the aspect that has always fascinated me most about the figure of the fashion illustrator. At the same time, the notions of design acquired during my studies help me to approach drawing in a more technical manner, trying to render volumes and cuts in the best possible way.
WHAT ARE YOUR SOURCES OF INSPIRATION?
An all-round love for art has always guided me in the creation of my work, and the fact that I grew up and live in Rome allows me to draw on inexhaustible beauty.
At the same time, René Gruau’s work has always been a beacon to follow, both in technical and purely emotional terms, and his collaboration with Christian Dior remains for me one of the greatest expressions of the magic of fashion illustration.
WHAT ARE YOUR LUCIDITY PILLS?
Dedication, beauty and love.
