WHAT’S YOUR BACKGROUND?

I come from Lake Maggiore, so natural beauties have always had a strong influence on my work. I have always dealt mainly with painting and sculpture and sometimes I would throw down some sketch of clothes, in fact my design approach is one hundred percent experimental. Thanks to my father, cinema has always been a fundamental element in my growth, both artistic and personal, preferring directors like Quentin Tarantino, Tim Burton and David Lynch. Painting has always been a need, working on the material, sinking our hands and creating a contact between body and work of art. In fashion I tried to find a compromise between this connection and what we call it a product.

THE CONCEPT OF YOUR COLLECTION?

Overgrow tells an inner rebirth, that flourish internally which makes the human being serene. From hiding oneself to getting up and being what one wants to be. Poor materials that change thanks to dyes and influences of meteorological phenomena such as light and rain.

The rebel vegetation of the lake from which I come has inspired the shapes and volumes of the garments that are created by assembling pieces of fabric hand-manipulated.Overgrow is presented with “cocoon” clothes, ie garments mainly in knitwear or jersey that fall and wrap around the figure and slowly bring out the manipulated clothes as if they were growing and taking possession of the body. Chenille, velvet and tulle that create hybrid shapes that give a sense of movement and metamorphosis. A natural rebellion that grows and fills over time.
