With a law degree and the title of lawyer, I entered the world of fashion through the door of the Legal Dpt of Vivienne Westwood first and then Gucci. A master’s degree in communication and marketing and a year as a contributor for grazia.it convinced me to hang up my toga in the closet and start dressing with the looks that best emphasized my strengths: so I joined Max Mara as a digital manager, where I remained for almost 6 years, followed by almost two years as digital communication manager at Pinko. Having reached this goal, I decided to shake things up again: to leave the corporate career path and enter the freelance profession. I moved to Modena, where I live with Riccardo, my boyfriend, and I started working with a famous agency whose clients are big international fashion and retail brands. At this point, accomplice to what has been happening to all of us for more than a year, I look for my therapy among my passions and I start to unravel necklaces, empty boxes of beads and charms collected in years of collecting between travels and markets and publish on Instagram some of my jewels, which I give the name of Jewelfizz 🙂 (my alias on Instagram is Gingerfizz). Then the stores will discover me: many small and very special boutiques, which make research their hallmark and finally Coin Excelsior, which has included me among the small brands on display in its Summer pop up.
THE CONCEPT OF YOUR COLLECTION?
My collection coincides with the way I’ve always chosen and worn jewelry: pearl earrings given to me by my mother in the same ear with Claire’s dolphins I got in London when I was 15, my grandmother’s rings with slimer ones found in potato chips…
And then my great passion for beads: one of my best friends, when I was at university, gave me a brooch made of an antique bouquet, whose flowers are made of glass beads and sequins. I didn’t think about it until after I started threading the glass beads onto metal wire, that that was my inspiration in my head: an unexpected piece of jewelry, which is not precious for its materials, but for the idea, for the mix of what makes it up, because it is not conventional. Then there is my passion for detail: the partypirls, which are a tribute to the pearls I was given as a family gift, but which represent me more if they are “embellished” (?!) with a nail art style decoration.
WHAT ARE YOUR LUCIDITY PILLS?
I’m a Virgo rising Leo: I’ve learned to make my innate rationality coexist with my creative flair. Of course, my education and my training have tried in every way to harness my artistic ambitions, but they have not succeeded: denying oneself is not productive. Better to remain lucidly crazy 🙂
