WHAT’S YOUR BACKGROUND?

I started approaching art at the age of 12 thanks to one of my professors who showed me Modigliani’s paintings. It was love at first sight. Those eyes blinded me and let me enter what I call the world. I continued studies related to the art world by attending high school near home. I threw myself into painting and sculpture until I decided to try to mix this background with a more digital context, such as photography. From here, I discovered analog photography, which is for me the medium that preserves both my physical and “digital” approach to art. I started to shoot always and only in film, printing the negatives and then burn them, stain them and deform them physically with my hands. It’s a process I’ve been carrying out for more or less two years. It is pure. True. Hard.
I did five years of art high school collecting many small nude drawings. I started touching materials like iron and resin. I drew and then folded the irons on the sheet of yellow paper following the lines of force of the bodies. I kneaded clay, plaster, jute for the casts. I flushed the resin every Wednesday of the month. Then I took a year of general photography studying the biggest ones. A year and a half ago I started the Polimoda. My world.

WHAT ARE YOUR SOURCES OF INSPIRATION?

The love.
The eyes of a person. The hands. The neck.
The jaw.
The light.
Silence.
The safety pins. Objects. In gold. Silver. Off white.
Postcards of strangers..

WHAT ARE YOUR LUCIDITY PILLS ?

Have the fear and the heart in my throat every time. Feel good and then feel bad. Say something in silence. Start again. Never stop.
